Husband and wife team Stephen and Ute Mercer operate Mercer’s Restaurant from this Federation style cottage, surrounded by a wide verandah and a cottage garden, situated in the tree lined gateway to the leafy suburb of Eltham, in Melbourne’s north east.
The interior is warm and elegant with subtle tones and a friendly and welcoming feel, that also reflects the attitude of the staff and approach to the food. With white linen clothed tables adorned with Riedel glassware and Villeroy & Boch crockery, Mercer’s offers a stylish dining environment.
The Modern Australian menu is precisely executed yet imaginative, thanks to Stephen Mercer’s classical European training. The food reflects intelligent and creative use of the finest seasonal ingredients in eclectic, contemporary and classic dishes that surprise and delight.
Mercer’s is fully licensed and offers an extensive wine list comprising more than 350 wines with an emphasis on all major Australian wine regions. The restaurant also caters for functions and each individually designed function menu showcases the quality of the dining experience at Mercer’s.
