At Neighbourhood Wine they believe in seasonality, simplicity and making reference to traditional cooking. Their aim is to take the best produce offered at any particular time of the year and turn it into something beautiful to enjoy.
Head chef Almay Jordaan grew up on a farm outside of Cape Town, South Africa, where the seasons played a large part in what the family ate. That practice and the philosophy behind it has driven her approach to food, produce and cooking ever since.
Provenance and sustainability are very important to the team and both are integral in the kitchen.

I’d heard plenty of good things before visiting and it certainly lived up to the reputation. The menu focused on quality seasonal ingredients, while the wine selection offered something for every taste. Service was attentive without feeling formal, making it a place I’d happily recommend for a relaxed dinner.
Neighbourhood Wine has such a welcoming atmosphere that it’s easy to settle in for a long evening. The staff were genuinely friendly and guided us through the wine list with excellent recommendations. Every dish we ordered paired beautifully with the wines, and the relaxed setting made catching up with friends even more enjoyable.
We stopped in for dinner after work and ended up staying much longer than planned. The food was beautifully prepared, the wine recommendations were spot on, and the atmosphere struck a perfect balance between lively and comfortable. It’s exactly the sort of neighbourhood restaurant you keep coming back to.
